Tuesday’s Tips: Three Non-Words

For our first Tuesday Tip, I’m going to go to Stewie from Family Guy:

“Irregardless” is not a word. The correct word is “regardless” or maybe “irrelevant.”

“Nother” isn’t a word, either. What you probably mean to say is “a whole other.”

“Majorly” also isn’t a word. There are many fine, actual modifiers that can get your point across, such as very, mostly, incredibly, overwhelmingly, or devastatingly. Use a thesaurus to find more.

Oh, and BTW – the phrase he’s referring to should be “all of a sudden,” instead of “all of the sudden.”

Check back next week for more tips!
